Description
The Villa 120, Hamilton Hoppin House, was built in 1856 and designed by Richard Upjohn, as was Kingscote in Newport. Built in the Italianate style it is the first Italian Stick Style design built in the United States. Today, this classic period home is an active Inn with eight guest suites, an innkeeper’s quarters, and another staff apartment. After extensive upgrades and improvements, the property is a beautiful setting for guests and small private functions. The property could be returned to a single-family compound, and lot # 3 on the site plan is available to purchase. Short-term rentals are allowed. There are conceptual architectural plans prepared by John Grosvenor, well known for his work with historic homes, and he is available to discuss the many options.
Shown by appointment only. Financial records and detailed operating numbers are available to qualified buyers.
